Dyscalculia is divided into subtypes in various ways
Semantic Memory- Diffuculty retrieving arithmetic facts.
Procedural Memory- Difficulty understanding and applying mathematical procedures.
Visiu-Spatial Memory- Difficulty understanding spatially represented numerical information such as misalignment of columns, place value errors, or geometry.
Quantitative Dyscalculia- a deficit in the skills of counting and calculating.
Intermediate Dyscalculia-the inability to operate with symbols or numbers.
Qualitative Dyscalculia- the inability to comprehend instruction and failure to master the skills of an operation. Examples include not memorizing facts, can't benefit from the stored verbal memorization of numbers facts that is used with prior association to solve problems involving addition, substraction, multiplication, and division.
